India's Health Secretary appointed Chairperson of Key WHO Panel at 75th Assembly

Indian Health Secretary, Mr. Rajesh Bhushan has been appointed as the chairperson of the Key WHO committee dealing with financial and management matters of the UN’s health body. In the 75th assembly conducted in Geneva; he has been appointed as a head of committee B. In response to his appointment, Rajesh Bhushan stated that it’s an honour for our nation.

Each year, a WHO assembly is held to discuss the complex list of health challenges and responses in form of two functioning committees where Committee A is responsible for technical and health matters of the health body. According to the Press and Information Bureau, Committee B will discuss several important matters such as health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory including East Jerusalem and the occupied Syrian Golan, the budget for WHO for the year 2022-2023, and the prevention of sexual exploitation, WHO reforms, etc.
